Dear Friends,
I am writing a new book! And in a brave move (*gulp*) against my own tendency to put off long, courageous projects like this, I have decided to post the first draft of it here, real-time as I write it. My goal is to post one chapter a month, which will be available for my paid subscribers here on Substack and on Patreon.
This book is called Journaling Your Way to the Sacred Everyday, and it is for anyone who keeps a journal, wants to keep a journal, or even wishes they were the type that kept a journal. It is for anyone who is searching for a concrete way to mark the beauty and meaning behind the mundane rituals of normal life. It is for people who are stuck, people who need to quiet the chatter in their minds, people who want a more creative way to approach the blank page, and people who just feel a heart-stir when they think about writing in a journal. I promise, journaling is easy. There is no way you can mess it up. And the process will remind you that your life is full of sacred moments that are worth noting and celebrating.
Journaling Your Way to the Sacred Everyday is a six-week journaling course in book-form. (Or, you are free to take each chapter as a mini journaling retreat and do all the week’s prompts in one sitting.)
Today, I am posting the introduction and first chapter below. It will be available for two weeks to all subscribers, and after that, it will go into the paid subscriber archives. The rest of the book will be exclusively for paid subscribers. If you love it and want access to all the prompts and to subsequent chapters as they are written and published, you can gain that access immediately by becoming a paid subscriber. I will also be hosting two journaling circle events online for supporters (details to come!), where we can meet over hot tea, open journals, and kindred conversation. If you have considered supporting my writing, today would be a great time to start. Your support changes my life.
