Yesterday, I found a scattered bunch of wild onions that my daughter, Azalea, had picked and then abandoned on the kitchen floor. I was slightly annoyed at the mess, but also thought it was funny as the title, “Azalea of the Wild Onions” flashed through my mind. That gave me the idea to make this little bio page for her. I think I will do this for all of my children. It’s fun. And it is a snapshot of her cute, quirky personality at age 8.
I have also been making these fun “Things I Love” pages in my journals. I think I will keep doing these forever. They make me so happy to look back at them. I love using Paloma’s Woodland Journal in this way.
We have also had fun with a sticker book that a friend sent me. (Thank you, Melissa!!!) Lots of us have pages in our journals that look kind of like this…
I also use my journals to pour my heart out… To get the words out of my head so I can know what I am thinking or feeling. Most of the letters that I write here start as journal entries. (You can read this one here.)
I have pages like this with recipes from cookbooks marked, grocery lists, etc. Yes, I could use a piece of paper. I don’t know why I do this… Why do I do this? Probably so I won’t lose the piece of paper???
And these thoughts from the last snow of winter… Little scribbled snapshots of words.
And sketches like this one of my Rosie.

Sending love and hopes that you will find some time to slow down and notice the things that you love, the things that make you laugh, some little things that make life worth living today.

Speaking of Azalea of the Wild Onions, this is a song I wrote for her when she was a tiny baby.
