Dear friends,
It’s been a long time since I’ve shared a new song. This is actually a song I wrote about six years ago but have never recorded. It is a love song for a child. I made up a word in these lyrics, which I think perfectly describes the beauty of red hair in sunshine: marigolden. I’m really proud of this word.
Randy and I have been wanting to record all of our new and old songs in some format, so I am hoping to share a few more new vides in the weeks ahead.
Child of Mine
I have seen your face
I have come to know
Deeper mysteries
Of how love can grow
You were planted in my garden
Brightest blossom, now you shine
With the colors of the morning
Kissed by heaven, child of mine
Take me by the hand
Take me by your side
Walk with me through life
Sweetest child of mine
You were planted in my garden
Marigolden, brilliant light
Shines within you, all around you
From your eyes of bluest bright
Oh praise the One who made you
He who made your eyes to shine
Oh praise the One who formed you
Inside and made you mine
Thanks for being here, for your interest in my words, our music, our family.
Sending love and hopes for a beautiful, sacred-everyday kind of day,
Mackenzie
Marigolden. Love it 🤗 this song is marigolden. How sweet are these little lives and how sweet the Giver of these lives!
